As a men’s stylist, I’ve worked with clients of all shapes and sizes, including guys who tower at 6’5″. Finding clothes that fit well can be a real challenge for tall men, especially when it comes to shirts. Sleeves are often too short, shirt lengths don’t hit right, and the overall fit can be baggy. Unfortunately, “big & tall” always get clumped together, but what if you are just tall?

To help you navigate this sartorial challenge, I’ve compiled a list of my top 6 clothing brands for tall men:

  1. Faherty – Tall Collection (my favorite)
    • Slim fit
    • Excellent quality
    • Laid-back style
    • Versatile options (dressy and casual)
    • Frequent sales and discounts
    • Can be a bit pricey
  2. Tall Slim Tees
    • Specializes in t-shirts
  3. Just Tall
    • Great for t-shirts
  4. Bugatchi
    • Ideal for dressier button-downs with prints
  5. J.Crew – Tall Collection
    • Good price point
    • Note: Shirts aren’t as slim fit as some may prefer
  6. Express – Tall Collection
    • Budget-friendly with fun options
    • Good selection of t-shirts, henleys, and shirts
    • Long sleeves may lose shape over time
  7. American Tall
    • Pro: Good price point
    • Con: Quality may diminish with long-term wear

Lastly, check out Proper Cloth for custom shirting. I like their selection and they have 90 day returns.

Remember these key fit rules:

  • Shirt hems should hit mid-zipper on your pants
  • Sleeve cuffs should meet where your wrist and hand join
  • If you have a shirt you love, but the sleeves are too short, just roll up the sleeves
